September 2023

8 Months

1 (min) to 5 (max)

$18125 CAD

Short Description

This opportunity is for you if you are between the ages of 18-25 and interested in:

· growing as a disciple of Jesus

· understanding more of His global heart

· discerning how He is inviting you to participate in what He is doing, in Canada and around the world

During your 8 months in Mexico City you will gain exposure to cross-cultural living and service in a variety of ways, as well as discover more about who God has created and is creating you to be. We hope that this internship will help you to discern what God is inviting you to next, but no matter where your next steps take you, this experience will give you tools to engage intelligently and empathetically in a globalized world.

There are 5 main phases on this internship journey:

Month 1-2: Language learning, adapting to your new physical and cultural environment and building relationships.

Month 3-4: Ministry placement with a Canadian Alliance International Worker

Month 5: Building further cultural competency, preparing for your next ministry placement, and an out-of-country visa-renewal retreat

Month 6-7: Ministry placement with a national pastor/ministry leader

Month 8: Wrapping up your time here in Mexico, discerning next steps, and re-entry preparation

Throughout each of these phases you will also be involved in weekly learning opportunities with your cohort, as well as one-on-one mentorship.

Is this you?

We'd love to chat more and give your more details:

Location Profile

Mexico City is one of the world’s most populous mega-cities with an estimated twenty-four million inhabitants living inside an area of 750 square kilometers. It is situated over 7,400 feet above sea level and is one of oldest cities in the world. Mexican culture has significant influence in Latin America and the world.

Although close to 90 percent of the people here would consider themselves Catholic and live in a highly “religious” context, few people in Mexico City are actively involved in the local church and have yet to experience the Gospel.

For over 25 years, Ray and Cindy Perry have served with the C&MA in Canada as pastors in youth ministry and missions, and now in Mexico City with Envision.

Ray and Cindy love to ride motorcycles, hang out with friends, and take every opportunity they can to spend time with their adult kids.

Dan & Jenica

Regional Coordinators Sun Region

Dan and Jenica, along with their two kids, have served in Mexico City since 2016. Short-term experiences, like mission trips, internships and apprenticeships, played an important role in their personal development and their journey toward serving God cross-culturally as International Workers.

Their great joy is to model, teach and provide opportunities (like internships!) where people can grow in their relationship with Triune God, their understanding of how God has created them and how God is inviting them to partner with Him in his mission of making all things new.
